Here some quick info about us, who we are, what we do, and why we do what we do. If you have any other questions feel free to contact one of us through e-mail or myspace.
The Deck has been known for hosting the most exciting, private parties -many of them with over 350 people who will remember that night for the rest of their year. The venue, located in Highland Park, was created with our own hands, piece by piece. A few times a year, we open the place up to everybody so that you all can share and enjoy our creativity and passion. We go all out with our special facilities, security and bartenders -all of course are free of charge for everybody in attendance. Staying with our philosophy about giving something different yet endearing to the people, the music we play is also unlike any normal house party or club. We play music that makes you feel good, because that is the best kind. For over 3 years we have been doing the same thing -making people happy- because we know that of all the satisfying things in life, happiness and friends are the most important.
Our plan, then, for this next event is with those same ideals but presented to the bboy community! We thought we could do it at our venue, but after some more research and discussions with the group, we found that there were many wonderful and unique spots to throw a good jam (also with much more room to break!). Now we just needed the people.
Our search has been fun, finding the most legit guys and gals in the scene. The only way to have something be successful is to have good intentions. And our intention is to simply keep the culture alive with the right ideas and the right people.
We, at The Deck, have the right people too. Among them, Win Kongmuang, an acclaimed bboy who has taken a break from the scene to pursue computer engineering, Sam Nakama, a bboy with the right moves and the right vibe. Christian Castillo and Matt Rittorno (son of Mark Rittorno, ex-senior vice president of hotel operations at Hilton, Paris, Bally's, and ex-president of the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas), a pair of successful video editors and writers, and Robert Nava, whose brilliance in landscape architecture helped The Deck become what it is today. Everybody on our team will contribute to trying to make these some of the best events you've ever seen!
We would like to share our style, philosophies, and interpretations to the community by throwing these and other events in the future. The events would not be possible without any of the people on this page.
Thank you all!
